Although moving does come with some expense, there are ways to move on a budget. How far in advance should I book a move?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Although there\u2019s no universal answer to this question, the sooner you book, the better. Move-tastic! operates on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you wait to long to reserve your move, your desired date might be booked up. Keep in mind that weekends and the end of each month are always busy. So if you need to move on a weekend or at month\u2019s end, book as soon as possible!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Booking well in advance also helps you reserve a guaranteed start time. In general, if you schedule a move in the morning, your move crew will arrive at 9am. However, if you wait too long to book, you might have an afternoon slot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Afternoon moves are common, but they don\u2019t have a hard start time. Move-tastic!\u2019s afternoon moves have a 1pm-5pm arrival window. The move crew\u2019s arrival just depends on how quickly their morning move goes. So if you want a guaranteed start time, book early so you can reserve a morning move.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. What insurance is available for my move?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You have two <a href=\"https:\/\/www.move-tastic.com\/moving-insurance\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">liability coverage options<\/a> when you move:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Carrier Liability.<\/strong> All licensed moving companies in Illinois must provide their clients with Carrier Liability coverage at no charge. We assume liability for all items we\u2019re transporting at $0.30 per pound per article.<\/li><li><strong>Declared Valuation. <\/strong>You declare the total value of your items before the move begins. We offer valuation coverage at a rate of $100 per each $10,000 of declared value.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to moving liability coverage, you might need a copy of our COI (certificate of insurance). Many building management companies require a COI prior to the move. The COI legally protects the building in case of property damage during the move, and proves that the moving company has worker\u2019s compensation insurance in case a mover is injured on the property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s very common for our clients to request a certificate of insurance. We just need the building\u2019s specific requirements and who should be listed as the certificate holder and additional insured. Once we have those details, we can get you a COI in about two business days. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5. What are some things the movers cannot do?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Although we try to offer the world to our clients, there are a few things that our movers cannot do. Here are some examples of items that we cannot legally move:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Currency and coin collections<\/li><li>Firearms and ammunition<\/li><li>Flammable items such as gas cans and propane tanks<\/li><li>Jewelry<\/li><li>Medication<\/li><li>Valuable papers and documents like passports, home deeds, and vehicle titles<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>We can disassemble and reassemble a lot of standard furniture. However, there are some exceptions! For instance: we can disassemble your bunk bed, but due to liability reasons we are not allowed to reassemble it. And since some specialized home gym equipment like <a href=\"https:\/\/support.onepeloton.com\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/204229609-Moving-Peloton-Bikes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pelotons<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mirror.co\/shop\/mirror#experience\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MIRROR<\/a> gym systems recommend that you bring in one of their technicians for a move, we defer to their expertise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Move-tastic! wants to make sure that you have the best moving experience possible.
